Somerset Hills School District

Weekend Meals Fundraiser

In partnership with The Bernard’s Lions Club

In the Somerset Hills School District, more than 300 children rely on free or reduced lunch at school, unfortunately many of them will face food insecurity at home. With your support, we can change that. Your contribution will help launch a weekend meals program, ensuring kids have nourishing food every day of the week and the chance to grow, learn, and thrive.

Partnering with Food4Kids

We’ve partnered with the Food4KidsNJ and The Somerset Hills School District to make giving simple and meaningful. Every donation directly funds meals for the children of the Somerset Hills School District.

Why it Matters

Every child deserves to thrive, yet many kids in our community face food insecurity. By coming together, we can provide healthy, nutritious meals to sustain them when school-provided meals aren’t available.

How You Can Help

This initiative is powered by the strength of our community, with support from mothers’ groups, high school students, business leaders, local political leaders, religious organizations, and traditional food drive partners. Together, we’re mobilizing to make a meaningful impact for kids in need.

Weekend Meals Program Overview

  • Food4KidsNJ works with a school district on mobilizing its community to help fund the creation of a local weekend meals program.
  • Parents, a nutritionist, and a partner (ex, Food Bank, Food Pantry, Community Group) select the foods that will be used.
  •  The partner purchases the food in bulk and puts it into a weekend’s meal package.
  • The weekend meals package is discreetly placed in students’ backpacks by the school nurse.
